East Feast Review

East Feast, a rather new addition to the Bahria Town vicinity has been beneficial to not only the commercial and social aspect of Bahria Town, but for reviving past traditions and food. Hence the name, the menu consists of traditional foods, not only confined to Pakistan though. You'll get a sundry of different options from a variety of places in Pakistan and India. Read the rest of our review to get a glimpse of this fabulous venue.

Size

The size of the restaurant, although it seems unlikely, is minuscule. The main chassis of the location is made from an old trailer or container (shipping container), so you can imagine the how small it really is. Despite this, they have made the restaurant, not only look bigger, but feel livelier. Their creativity is certainly permeable to the eyes, and one can see the effort they've put into the design aspect of the restaurant. There are around 4-5 tables with outdoor accommodation. In addition, they've also built tents with heaters for the colder times.

Decor

There is a wooden-based interior, walls and TV have a wooden feel to them. There is an LCD situated on the West side of the restaurant, which entertains the many that come to dine here. The kitchen is behind the main counter, and there is another, larger kitchen in the back, and also a barbecue designated area. Various decorations are hanging on the walls, making it rather hospitable.

Service

The service is superb, to begin with. At first, when the restaurant opened, there was a very small staff, but with the growing amount of customers, they have around 5-7 hard-working individuals, who maintain the needs of the customers. Additionally, everyone is very welcoming when a new food-lover has entered its premise.

They also provide free home delivery (which we've tried), a drive thru and lunch at your office.

Food

Perhaps the most important facet of the restaurant. Well for starters, I can say that the food served was excellent. Not only in taste, but in plating and design. There are a plethora of different items on the menu, and almost all of them we've tried, but one in particular we like is the Amritsar Thali, which consists of rice, chicken, kabob's and other sauces. The food is different because, quite frankly, it tastes like something your mother might've made, which makes me feel more comfortable in the surrounding. Whatever you do order will, undoubtedly superb and this is what makes this restaurant ranked on our favorite restaurants in Bahria Town.

The Hot Spot Café Review

Introduction:

The Hot Spot Cafe is most likely one of the most successful franchises to originate in Pakistan. In fact, before opening in Bahria Town, the franchise has pervaded its branches throughout all of Pakistan and in major central hubs such as Lahore and Karachi. It was obvious that the "Spot" had to arrive in Bahria Town, and after a years worth of patience, it finally has.

Right off the bat I can say that this is one of the most unique places I've visited. It's not your average coffee shop when around 200 graphic posters are surrounding you. I actually found it entertaining trying to decipher some of the more complex "humour".

Relative Location

The Hot Spot Cafe is situated behind Arena (Cinema) in Phase 4, Bahria Town Rawalpindi.

Size

The size of the shop is relatively small, but that doesn't stop ice-cream lovers from barging in. There are around five tables which can accommodate around 20 individuals. Not as much as most branches, where there are multiple stories, but its enough, as most people take-out.

Decor

As aforementioned, the decorations are very unique and are most likely the sole, exclusive place in Pakistan where you would be able to find this. Innumerable posters about Hollywood, Bollywood, Lollywood and humorous remarks surround the wall area of the shop. Despite this, most teenagers find this a commonplace and an area to "chill".

Service

When it came to the staff, there were only two men working, although essentially they should've had more. With the random rush entering the building any second, it is necessary to keep a larger employee count. In spite of this, they still managed and carried out work productively. It took a bit of time for the items to arrive, but that's because we ordered fresh items. (i.e Waffle Cone.) Aside from that, the service was superb and the staff was welcoming and hard-working.

Food

Perhaps, for some, this is the most important facet of a restaurant, the food. Undoubtedly, I can say that the Hot Spot Cafe's Ice Cream surpassed the quality, taste and flavor of most vendors in the Islamabad area. I don't know if love is the secret ingredient, but the ice cream is just delicious. I literally couldn't stop consuming the ice cream, despite the heaviness and its extreme "nutrition". We tried the Dutch Chocolate and Oreo Chocolate Chip flavors, and both were excellent. They don't exactly have a sundry of different flavors but its sufficient for a treat after dinner.

The also offer other foods. Sandwiches, cupcakes, coffees, bagels, sundaes, shakes and fro-yo's are some items included in the menu.

Verdict

BTP Overall: Excellent

  • Food: 4.5/5
  • Service: 4/5
  • Atmosphere: 4.5/5
